Macons Indigenising Yet Another New Product - Aerial Work Platforms

Macons Equipments has many firsts to its credit and is a pioneer in manufacturing a series of global quality products on Indian soil in order to bring affordability to the users.

CMD, Macons Equipments

Our focus is on quality and customer satisfaction, so we want to bring world-class, tech-rich equipment at affordable rates, hence, our decision to indigenously manufacture them rather than simply import them from foreign manufacturers.
Dharmesh Surelia, CMD, Macons Equipments

Macons Equipments is a pioneer of sorts. When most Indian companies chose to import high-tech machines from global manufacturers, which few customers could afford and use, Dharmesh Surelia decided to make them in India. This way, he could bring down costs and make them accessible to a larger number of users. With a far-sighted view of the construction industry, he could envisage the demand that would emanate for such machines.

Macons Equipments is a pioneer of sorts

In 2000, Macons launched the first indigenously designed and developed Kerbing Machine for laying of dividers, drain lines etc. These machines proved ideal for operations at various NHAI projects all over India. What followed was a series of new machines such as mobile and semi mobile truck mounted concrete batching/mixing plant, and MAC series of compact concrete batching plant in technical collaboration with international companies. Today, the Macons brand is visible across the country for its superior machines, efficient after-sales service, and reliable customer support.

The company has recently joined hands with Italy’s leading company Socage S.r.l, which has been manufacturing and selling Aerial Work Platforms for 30 years. The two companies have formed a JV named Macons Socage Platforms Pvt. Ltd, exclusively for the Indian market, under which, it will manufacture innovative and technically advanced products in India. The important thing here is that these machines will be highly affordable as compared to the foreign makes.

“This JV is in line with our objective to cater to the requirements of the Indian market with top-of-the-line, and most cost-effective products. This will be our contribution to the government’s Make in India campaign,” says Dharmesh Surelia.

The company will now be able to offer a wide spectrum of aerial platforms ranging from 12 metres to 75 metres working height, and they will be designed to offer a host of advantages. The aerial platforms will be of ergonomic and compact design, light in weight, give high performance in terms of elevation and outreach, enable ease of working in cities and crowded areas, have high flexibility, and will be completely hydraulic with a reliable operating system. Truck Mounted Aerial working platforms are essential for application in power transmission, maintenance of buildings and structures, landscaping, repair and maintenance of wind turbines, among others. The first two 24 m DA324 (Double Articulated Aerial Platforms) has been successfully launched.

Avers Dharmesh Surelia, “Our strong focus on quality is the reason why we are constantly upgrading our technology, manufacturing processes, machinery and resources. It’s this pursuit of achieving total customer satisfaction that has earned us numerous repeat orders, and has positioned our brand in the marketplace as the customer’s first choice of construction equipment.”

Macons Equipments offers a wide range of products

SO.CA.GE (Società di Carpenteria Generale) was established in 1974 for producing metallic components. In 1981, the company specialized in the manufacturing of working access platforms and with its innovatively articulated platforms, it established its position as a leader in the Italian market.
