ACE: New Tower & Pick-n-Carry Cranes, upgraded Backhoe Loader
Indian Construction Equipment manufacturing conglomerate, Action Construction Equipment (ACE) displayed its new range of tower cranes, new pick-n-carry cranes, and an upgraded version of its backhoe loaders at Excon. The new 6 to 8-ton FT 6040 flattop tower has a 60-meter jib. The F350, 35-ton pick-n-carry crane with five sections boom is designed for use in infrastructure construction, maintenance, mining, steel stock yards, and industrial jobs. Also on display was a new variant of the company’s 3-ton telehandlers and a 15-ton electric mobile crane.
Said Sorab Agarwal, Executive Director, Action Construction Equipment, “These new offerings reinforce our position as the sole Indian company to offer so many variants of cranes. Today, we have a 68% market share in tower cranes. We will soon be coming up with upgraded versions of our 10 to 16-ton flattop tower cranes. The new cranes will have upgraded lifting, slewing, and travelling mechanism, and more safety features. They will be targeted for use in general infrastructure construction, and for precast and pre-engineered buildings. We will be the first Indian company to come up with a 25-ton flattop tower crane, which is presently in the design stage and will be launched in 2024.”
“We are very positive about the prospects of electric cranes, especially in areas where there is an abundance of electricity. However, with the non-formalization of the Central Motor Vehicles Act in India, there are issues with the registration of electric cranes.”
ACE also showcased its 60 ton truck-mounted crane and Agarwal informed of plans to come up with a 110-ton truck crane model. "We are expanding our crane business with the production of rough terrain cranes of 20, 45, and 75 tons at our new ACE Industrial Park at Palwal, which also produces crawler lattice boom cranes. We have already sold four units of the 75-ton rough terrain cranes and will come up with a 100-ton crawler crane in 2024.”
“We will be adding 30 and 55-ton RT cranes to our portfolio as we see a lot of demand for them in urban metro construction and also in general infrastructure construction and mining. The RT cranes have a compact footprint and can work on sites with highly uneven surfaces. We have undertaken a lot of research for the RT cranes and integrated many safety features in them, which exceed the Indian norms for safety. These include a more robust structure, greater stability, and a long boom in both the U- shaped and HEX versions.”
Also on display were ACE’s new, modified motor grader and soil compactor. Said Agarwal, “We have given a complete face lift to our AX series of 49, 74, and 95 hp backhoe loaders, which now come with a modified cabin with better visibility, improved ergonomics, a new canopy and grills, which give the machine a smarter look.”
Agarwal informed, "Despite competition, ACE has registered good business growth owing to our right application-based products and solutions at the right price points, and our reliable customer services. We have 105+ dealers, 100 direct services points, and 400 service engineers. We have plan to scale up production and improve production throughput to meet upcoming demand. The company has already enhanced its fabrication and assembly line, set up a new paint shop, and is undertaking production of tower cranes along with its road equipment and truck cranes."
“The Excon 2023 platform has been highly conducive for us for showcasing our new offerings and have meaningful engagements with prospective buyers on the utility and application of our products,” he added.
