ACE Launches NX Series NextGen Multi Activity Cranes
As the name suggests, the new NX Series NextGen Multi Activity Cranes perform multiple tasks, apart from crane operations, which makes them very versatile in enabling multi-purpose applications. Developed in-house by ACE at its R&D centre, the cranes with articulated steering, are the first of their kind in the world; ACE has applied for a patent on the entire series, which includes 3 different models: NX-360o, NXP and NXT.
NX-360o: This multi-activity crane has a 360o full-slew operation, apart from the regular pick & carry operation with a lifting capacity of 20 tons and height of 21.5 meters. The 360o slew operation will find application in all areas of infrastructure development, construction of buildings and in industrial use. There is an increased demand for safer cranes and the market has been moving towards Slew Cranes as the stability in these machines is comparatively better owing to their full slew operation on outriggers. With NX-360o, ACE will now be able to cater to the requirements of customers for medium-size slew cranes at only 50 to 60% of the cost of the traditional slew cranes of similar capacity, and with the added advantage of Pick N Carry duty, and SLI for 360o slew duty.
NXP: This 15-ton crane combines the advantage of the Aerial Work Platform with the Pick N Carry crane. Most construction and infrastructure sites require cranes for lifting and shifting of loads and AWPs for people to work at heights for erection, installation and miscellaneous jobs. Currently, most of the sites are deploying two different equipment - a Crane and an AWP. By using NXP, the overall owning and operating cost is reduced significantly as one machine with one operator will do the jobs of the two machines. This crane is most suitable in industrial use where there is requirement for maintenance/shut down maintenance at heights within the plants and factories.
In the NXP, the jib of the man lift basket is hydraulically operated and people working at heights can adjust/control the horizontal jib position and 180o basket rotation from the basket itself. The basket capacity is 230 kgs with working height of 21 meters (68 feet). Safety for workmen at height is ensured through SLI, which has a dual duty feature i.e. for crane duty as well as man lift duty. The man basket also has load cells that prevent overloading beyond 230 kgs. (rated capacity of the basket). The hydraulically-operated man lift basket can be easily detached or attached to the crane within 5 minutes as and when required by the user.
NXT: This is a Telehandler cum Pick N Carry Crane of 15-ton capacity. Its fork attachment has a capacity of 3 tons up to a maximum height of 12.3 meters, unlike the traditional Telehandlers, where the maximum capacity is limited to a very small working radius and limited heights. This increased capacity and height adds to the versatility of NXT model and makes it suitable for a lot of load applications, where the traditional Telehandlers are not able to work. The hydraulically-operated compensated forks are designed to ensure that the load always remains parallel to the ground during the boom luffing/extension operations. The fork fitment can be attached or detached on the crane within 5 minutes.
With these three new launches, ACE is set to maximize customer's savings as they can apply these cranes for multi-purpose usage and as per their requirements.
