Portafill International
Portafill International Ltd is a world leading designer, developer and supplier of a range of cost effective, innovative and highly mobile screens. The company’s products have been deployed in a variety of testing applications including: quarries; sand and gravel pits; landfill sites; Gabion stone; waste management sites and topsoil. Portafill can call upon the rich local expertise and history that has made Ireland a hub of excellence when it comes to screening plant production. The company is driven forward by Mr. Malachy Rafferty an experienced individual with over 40 years involvement in the screening sector, having owned and managed Masterskreen International Ltd prior to his involvement with Portafill. Masterskreen was purchased by Metso Minerals, the Finnish multinational in the late 90s.
Portafill will make their debut appearance at Excon and Mr. Rafferty is excited by the prospect and said, ‘we are looking forward to our participation at the show. We have a well-established products range and a good reputation throughout Europe for manufacturing reliable, innovative products. The compact nature of our machines is well suited to export markets where we can keep the cost of shipping to a minimum. Adding he said, our goal from Excon is to meet as many end users and potential dealers as possible. We want to establish Portafill as a known brand within India and are looking for potential partners.’
Portafill has been designing and manufacturing quality products for over 18 years. Incorporated in 1993, the company first started making a trench filling device. The business shortly moved on to the design of mobile screens with the launch of the 2000 range of equipment. This highly successful model was the primary product for the company for a number of years, giving high production and reliable use for its many satisfied customers. Their compact design permitted two x 2000 machines to be transported in a 40 foot container, keeping haulage costs to a minimum and proving a huge hit with dealers and customers.
A focus on research and development has seen the growth in the product range in recent years. In 2003, the 3000 range of mobile screens with on board conveyors was introduced in the market. These compact, strong screens proved a great success with product being delivered to every continent in the world. 2009 saw the launch of two new products. The 4000 and 5000 machines complemented the previous Portafill ranges and continued the high quality design of their predecessors. Portafill also offers a range of wheel mounted and tracked stacking conveyors.
The Portafill brand has become synonymous with reliable, compact, efficient screening and that reputation will continue in the years ahead. Continued product development will focus on designing a range of equipment that meets the needs of the large number of contractors and producers that wish to own a compact screen without sacrificing output or product quality. The company has ambitious plans for product development with 3 new machines planned for 2012.
