The 6 x 6 driveline features three rigid axles, oil-cooled wet brakes, automatic transmission and a torque converter. The TA230 is powered by a Tier 3-compliant 10.5 litre Liebherr diesel rated at 270kW offering a maximum travel speed of 57km/h and reversing speed of 16km/h. The high top speed is said to push cycling performance. Combined with the large dumpbody, the TA230 offers higher productivity than its nearest rivals in this payload class.
The 45 tonne capacity LTC 1045-3.1, a new single cab wheeled mobile crane was also displayed by Liebherr. This compact mobile crane with 36 m boom supplements company’s range of all terrain cranes in the three-axle class.
The cab can be telescoped forward for the best view when travelling, then moved backwards for the best view of crane operations. The total weight of 36 tonnes at 12 tonnes per axle includes the complete counterweight of 6.5 tonnes, double swing-away jib, 16.00 tyres, Telma eddy-current brake, 6 x 6 drive, and a hook block.
