Schwing Stetter- mining, ports, material handling, and road equipment
Schwing Stetter India - one of the country’s leading concreting & construction equipment manufacturers, announced new product line-ups and launched vehicles to strengthen its product portfolio and help address the pain points of CE sub-segments like mining, ports, material handling, and road & highway infrastructure in India.
“Our new path breaking construction product line-up will play a major role in achieving the company’s long-term growth plans,” said V G Sakthikumar, Managing Director, Schwing Stetter India. “Demand for our construction and concreting equipment machinery has been increasing at a stellar rate since Covid-19; the record volumes over the years were possible because of the stimulus measures put in place by the Government of India to boost infrastructure development in the country.”
Said Sakthikumar, “Our strategy is to become a total solutions provider in the infrastructure construction segment; hence, we showed our entry in new product segments with our new 60-ton rigid dump truck, reach stacker, soil stabilizer, compactor for road construction, and piling rig for diaphragm wall construction. One of our key exhibits targeted at demand from wind mills, and for refinery construction and maintenance, and metro railway projects for lowering of TBM sections, was our 700 and 2000- ton crawler lattice boom crane. The 2000-ton crane is currently working in the mega Barmer Refinery project in Rajasthan. Our higher capacity cranes are highly specialized and can be configured, with ease for varied lifting jobs as in windmill projects for lifting of the nacelles.”
Among the newer product lines, the company displayed its new 14-ton excavator, in which segment the company aims to become the largest manufacturer in India in the next four years.
On display, under the company’s core concreting segment, was its concrete batch mix plant, self-loading mixer, and for tunnel construction, the company displayed its shotcreting equipment, plastering machine, dry mortar plant, and its concrete plant.
Said Sakthikumar, “The 2023 Excon was a phenomenal success for us as we got a very good response from contractors and other stakeholders, including banks and financial institutions, who are a major customer base. We displayed close to 70 machines and showcased our technologically advanced newer offerings. With our widening product portfolio, we will further strengthen our product support services and timely supply of spare parts.”
“We are bullish about the short and long-term growth prospects for 2024 – and have therefore launched 31 new products for mining, shipping, and road & highway infrastructure industries, including port container handling, mining support, and road patching equipment. As we add more product categories due to robust demand, we will soon become a one-stop shop for customers in the construction industry,” he added.
The company reported revenue of ₹ 5,000+ crore in 2023 and credits its double-digit year-over-year (35% in 2023) growth to its continued R&D investments, focus on long-term growth plans, portfolio expansion across key industries and markets, and to its employees’ performance. Schwing Stetter India also reiterated its sustainability efforts to achieve CO2 reduction in the environment.
