Overview on the industry

With the mining sector opening up amidst the global commodities slump, India has emerged as one of the two lucrative markets for global mining OEMs. India is well endowed with mineral reserves and the mining industry plays a crucial role in the economic growth. Nonetheless, the industry is continually adapting to changing local and global conditions being a cornerstone of the economy, making a significant contribution to economic activity, job creation and foreign exchange earnings. Mining and its related industries are critical to India’s socio-economic development.

With a strong but volatile outlook for the sector, the global mining and metals industry is focused on future growth through expanded production, without losing sight of operational efficiency and cost optimization. The sector is also faced with increased challenges of changing expectations in the maintenance of its social license to operate, skill shortages, effectively executing capital projects and meeting government revenue expectations.

Eicher Pro 6000 Mining Sector

A growing economy needs performance.

India produces 88 minerals - 4 fuel related minerals, 10 metallic minerals, and 50 non-metallic minerals. The opportunity for equipment in mining is expected to remain the largest application due to the increased resource exploration activities, as well as the high demand for precious metals. India sources out raw materials to major sectors like power, iron, steel, fertilizers and cement. Due to the high degree of complexity and large scale operations, mining requires significant investments in earthmoving equipment. The Eicher Pro 6000 mining trucks introduced over a year ago are ideally suited for various applications; an innovative and versatile solution that meets the expectations of the industry.

Sustainable Solution

India being a price sensitive and an extremely competitive market customers expect value for money, demand technologically advanced equipment, fuel efficient engines and aftermarket service that is class apart for superior uptime. Eicher Pro 6000 is designed keeping in mind, to meet the expectations in terms of both economy as well as operational efficiency. The ease and comfort of owning this product proves it to be a sustainable solution for your business.

Meeting operational demands with efficiency

The powerful performance of this next generation truck is enabled by the VEDX8 7.7 litre engine, designed in collaboration with the Volvo Group, and coupled with ZF 9 speed gearbox that offers an exceptional combination of efficiency and productivity, making the vehicle adroit in mining applications. It is a 6-cylinder, 4 valve engine with high combustion efficiency and low parasitic losses that deliver 220 hp at 850 Nm torque, the best in its class. The quick gear shifts, minimal rpm and torque disruption enables better pick up, while one of the best-in-class torque to weight ratio along with flat engine torque curve minimizes these gear shifts.

Unmatched Uptime

Uptime, or the availability of the vehicle when you need it, is a concept that was unheard of in the mid premium segment. For the first time Eicher brings service support to the mining site so that the complete service and maintenance is done at the work site. The on-site support is provided by skilled and dedicated technicians and easy availability of parts. Aftermarket service is also supported by a country wide service network ensuring that the Eicher trucks deliver best-in-class productivity at all times.

Enhanced Driver Efficiency

With high demand of low cost of equipment, skilled manpower also adds to the productivity and affects the profitability of the business. Drivers play a significant role in enhancing productivity and performance of the equipment in operation. Eicher for the first time introduced driver training programs, which are conducted at the Driver Training Centres as well as customized programs at the work site. These programs not only help drivers understand the modern technology and its applications in mines but also create awareness of safety and environment care.

Intelligent Systems, EICHER LIVE

The modernization and atomization in the mining industry, has created a need for intelligent systems. The Eicher Pro 6000 is the first to have Telematics Solutions installed in the tippers of its class. The IDIS provides live information to the driver on the tippers operational parameters, fuel consumption and advanced diagnostics. This ensures safe and efficient driving with preventive vehicle maintenance, leading to minimum interruptions. This system of advanced solutions enables the truck as the central node of an active, connected internet of logistic. Eicher 6000 series is a connected truck that offers immense opportunities for every stakeholder in the industry.
