MoRTH to spend ₹1.3lakh cr to build 14 e-ways covering 2k km

The ministry has submitted proposals for seven projects, estimated to cost around ₹70,000 crore, to other ministries for feedback. Since each project involves an investment of over ₹1,000 crore and will be developed under public-private partnership (PPP), approval from a panel is required before seeking Cabinet approval.
The development of the Surat-Nasik-Ahmednagar-Solapur corridor, covering 599 km, will be the longest stretch. Other stretches include Kharagpur-Siliguri in West Bengal, Sanchor-Mehsana-Ahmedabad passing through Rajasthan and Gujarat, Kanpur Bypass in UP, Kozhikode-Malappuram-Palakkad in Kerala, Raipur-Ranchi, and Jorhat-Badarpur corridor in Assam. The Coastal Road in Odisha, spanning 346 km, is another significant project.
The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has already invited bids for some of the finalized stretches, including a greenfield six-lane expressway connecting Agra with Gwalior.
