MoRTH lines up ₹12,600-cr road infra projects in Gujarat

The Union Transport Ministry has announced a significant allocation of funds worth ₹12,600 crore for the construction of roads, bridges, and logistics parks in Gujarat. The central government will provide an additional ₹6,000 crore for the development of multi-modal logistics parks and ₹1,000 crore for road over bridges (ROBs) or road under bridges (RUBs) on roads other than national highways. Additionally, under the annual plan, the ministry will grant an additional ₹2,600 crore to the state for road construction. Another ₹3,000 crore will be allocated for the construction of state highways, district roads, and roads inside municipal areas. The ministry is also working on completing the 109-km Ahmedabad-Dholera Expressway, which will connect Ahmedabad with the upcoming Special Investment Region and Dholera Smart City by January 2024.
