Gadkari Inspects Faridabad Bypass & DND Sohna Highway Construction
Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari, inspected the construction progress of the Faridabad Bypass and Package 1 & 2 of DND Sohna Highway on National Highway-148 NA. The project, part of Bharatmala Pariyojana on Hybrid Annuity Mode, spans 33 km with a budget of Rs 3565 Crore. This initiative integrates major highways like Direct Noida Delhi flyways, Delhi-Meerut, Kundli-Manesar-Palwal (KMP), NH-2 (Delhi-Agra), Delhi Mumbai Expressway, and Jewar airport connectivity highway. The urban project includes a 6-lane access-controlled highway with 3-lane service roads on both sides, along with various elevated sections, flyovers, and bridges. Notably, it incorporates innovative features like vertical gardening on piers for aesthetic and environmental benefits, as well as noise barriers to mitigate pollution. Additionally, a portion of barren land is being repurposed for a jungle safari project initiated by the Delhi government.
