Elevated road with flyovers planned to alleviate congestion on South Delhi's Ma Anandmayee Marg

Public Works Department (PWD)
The Public Works Department (PWD) in South Delhi is planning to construct an elevated road with flyovers along the Ma Anandmayee Marg, which connects Kalkaji Mandir on the Outer Ring Road to the Mehrauli-Badarpur Road at the Lal Kuan T-point. The 5.5 km-long Ma Anandmayee Marg is a major congestion point, and authorities are planning to make the entire stretch signal-free. PWD has suggested building elevated roads of lengths of 3.5 km, 1.8 km, or 2.4 km, along with a U-turn near the Govindpuri Metro station and Okhla ESIC hospital. This project would benefit commuters from Okhla Phase-I, II and II, Govindpuri, Kalkaji, Kalkaji Extension, C Lal Chowk, Tehkhand, and Tukghlakbad areas, and promises smooth connectivity to Noida, Badarpur, the Airport, and other places. The feasibility studies of all the options are being carried out and the proposals will be shared with Unified Traffic and Transportation Infrastructure (Planning & Engineering) Centre (UTTIPEC), the Delhi Metro Rail Corportation (DMRC), and Delhi Development Authority (DDA).
