NHSRCL completes awarding of civil packages for MAHSR in Maharashtra

The National High Speed Rail Corporation Limited (NHSRCL) has achieved a major milestone by awarding the last Civil Package (C3) for the Mumbai-Ahmedabad High Speed Rail (MAHSR) alignment in Maharashtra. This final package covers a 135-km long alignment, featuring seven tunnels and a bridge spanning over the Vaitarna river. Notably, the bridge over Vaitarna river is the longest in the entire MAHSR corridor within the state.

The NHSRCL has now awarded all 11 Civil Packages for the High Speed Rail corridor, which includes the construction of the Mumbai (BKC) HSR station (C1) and a 21 km stretch of tunnel, including a remarkable 7-km long Undersea tunnel (C2). The extensive 508 km long MAHSR corridor consists of 465 km long viaducts, 12 HSR stations, 3 rolling stock depots, 28 steel bridges, 24 river bridges, and 9 tunnels. A significant highlight of the project is the 7 km long undersea tunnel, making it the first-ever tunnel beneath the sea.
