Indian Railways signs MoU with US agency for green tech

The Ministry of Railways aims to make the railways the first mode of national transport in India to achieve net-zero carbon emissions by 2030. As part of this partnership, both countries will jointly organize events, conferences, and capacity-building programs, along with field visits and study tours, focusing on the identified areas.
While Indian Railways has made significant progress in electrifying its railway network, the integration of renewable energy sources, particularly solar power, still requires attention in certain rail operations. This collaboration with USAID will help accelerate the adoption of sustainable practices and technologies, ensuring a greener and more environmentally friendly railway system for India.
