Shriram chemical commits Rs 12,000-cr investment in Gujarat

DCM Shriram has inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the state government to invest Rs 12,000 crore in the manufacturing of chemical and petrochemical products in Bharuch, Gujarat. The company, which already operates significant chlor-alkali facilities in Bharuch, plans to enhance existing capacities and introduce new products to its portfolio. The expansion includes increasing caustic soda capacity from 508,000 tpa to 813,000 tpa at Jhagadia in Bharuch. DCM Shriram is a diversified and integrated player with a strong presence in the agri-rural value chain and the chlorovinyl industry. Additionally, the company boasts highly integrated operations and 225 MW captive power generation facilities in its chloro-vinyl business.
