Kochi Metro & Infopark to create IT workspaces at metro station
Kochi Metro Rail Limited (KMRL) and Infopark have entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to develop advanced IT workspaces within the premises of the Kochi Metro station. The MoU outlines plans for flexible workspaces covering 39,880 sqft across six floors of the Ernakulam South Metro station. According to a joint statement by KMRL MD Loknath Behera and Infopark CEO Susanth Kurunthil, the proposed facility at Ernakulam South Metro station reflects the changing dynamics of co-working spaces, with a growing demand post-COVID-19. The flexi workspaces are designed to cater to IT/ITES companies and employees, providing premium workspace and co-working models that combine mobility with modern office amenities. The focus is on convenience for gig workers and women employees. The infrastructure is expected to be completed by October next year, offering not only office facilities but also additional features such as pantry areas, event spaces, and parking areas. The integrated nature of these premium workspaces aims to provide more convenience and safety for employees utilizing multiple modes of transportation.
