CEL Commissions 200 MW Solar Module Manufacturing Line

The facility was dedicated to the nation by Jitendra Singh, who highlighted the growing role of solar and renewable energy in India’s transition towards net-zero emissions by 2070.
The new manufacturing line marks a major expansion in indigenous solar module production and reflects the government’s push for self-reliance in clean energy technologies. The Minister also noted that CEL, which manufactured India’s first solar cell in 1977, is expanding into advanced sectors including hybrid renewable systems, defence electronics and vertical axis wind turbines.
The project is expected to strengthen domestic solar manufacturing and support India’s broader renewable energy and sustainable development goals.
