CCI Approves Adani Power’s Acquisition of GVK Energy

Competition Commission of India (CCI) has approved the acquisition of 100% share capital of GVK Energy Limited by Adani Power Limited.

The acquisition is being carried out under the corporate insolvency resolution process initiated under the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code, 2016.

Adani Power, listed on both BSE and the National Stock Exchange, operates thermal power plants across several Indian states and also runs a 40 MW solar plant in Gujarat.

GVK Energy, a subsidiary of GVK Power and Infrastructure Ltd., is associated with a 330 MW hydroelectric power project in Srinagar, Uttarakhand through its subsidiary AHPL. The company also provides operation and maintenance services for the project.
