BASF’s Construction Chemicals business has introduced an innovative admixture solution, sureTEC to meet India’s increasing demand for improved efficiency of the overall construction process and durability of finished concrete structures.
sureTEC, which stands for Super Retention Technology, enables concrete producers to gain control over workability between the batching plant and the placement site for two hours or more, even in hot weather – far beyond previously known levels. The lengthy workability time helps reduce problems caused by external factors such as traffic conditions and site access, which can make it difficult to estimate the time window between batching and placement of the concrete. Developed with a focus on sustainable construction, sureTEC, represents a major milestone in admixture innovation.
“The most important mega-trend of the past few years is the demand for sustainable construction: faster processes, higher durability, less energy use, and lower resource consumption in both the construction process and ongoing maintenance. As the leader in the Indian construction chemical industry and a responsible global supplier, BASF has consistently offered world-class quality products and services to help our customers meet these demands and become more successful,” said Prasad Chandran, Chairman, BASF Group in India and Head South Asia.
Speaking at the official launch at Delhi, Himanshu Kapadia, Chief Executive, Construction Chemicals business in South Asia, commented, “Our competitive edge lies not only in manufacturing of top grade products but also in our global presence, which makes us a reliable partner. Our excellent performance in this field has made us a trustworthy supplier to most businesses.”
The launch events at Delhi and Bangalore were attended by approximately 300 representatives including government officials, leading consultants, contractors, ready-mix concrete suppliers and owners.
“This new technology was developed with the needs of the customer clearly in our mind. It will assist our customers to meet their sustainability targets by improving workability of their construction operations, as well as energy efficiency and durability of the finished structures,” stated Dr. Sven Asmus, Head of Admixture Systems Marketing Asia Pacific.
”With sureTEC, concrete producers are now able to provide outstanding quality control and consistency across various concrete batches. This assures a highly consistent workmanship – a major prerequisite for long life-cycle construction,” Asmus explained.
sureTEC is available as a ‘standalone’ admixture, or as a premixed ‘in-product’ additive with selected BASF admixtures.
