Kanodia Group Offers Building Materials, Cement & Hygiene Products

“We are scaling up by installing more cement grinding units, diversifying into the hygiene sector, and are offering all kinds of building materials under one roof to the construction industry.”
Vishal Kanodia, Managing Director Kanodia Group

How do you see the future of infra development in India?
Our country is entering Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsava and Amrit Kaal – and making a 25-year leap up to 100 years. The aim is to boost development at the macro-economic level, drive digital economy and fintech technology-enabled evolution, energy transition, etc. The Government has announced big investments in developing modern infrastructure, guided by the PM’s GatiShakti - a transformative multi-nodal approach for economic growth and sustainable development. This will be driven by 7 engines of growth, namely, Roads, Railways, Airports, Ports, Mass Transport, Waterways, and Logistics Infrastructure, and will be supported by Energy, Transmission, IT, Bulk Water & Sewerage and Social Infrastructure.

Budget 2022-23 has focused on major projects like expansion of 25,000-km of National Highways, development of Multimodal Logistic Parks, One Station-One Product, Mass Urban Transport with connectivity to Railways (Metros), the Parvatmala River Linkage Projects, Smart City Projects, connecting 3.80 cr households under Har Ghar Nal Se Jal scheme, with an estimated budget of Rs 60,000 cr, approx 80 lakh houses to be constructed under the PM Awas Yojna with a budget of Rs 48,000 cr, Air Connectivity through Udan, PM’s Development Initiative for the North-East region, and many other infra development projects under PPP model.

How is the cement sector emerging after the huge economic setback to infrastructure development projects due to Covid-19 lockdowns?
Bigcem Cement
The Covid-19 pandemic has badly hit the world’s economic and social fabric. During the first phase of complete lockdown in March/April 2020, the cement industry saw production and despatches coming to a halt, and mass migration of labour from construction sites, due to which the real estate and infrastructure projects came to a halt or were put on hold.

Once the situation began to improve, the Central and various State Governments began to speed up ongoing projects, which boosted the cement & construction industries. Due to the social distancing and other pandemic protocols, the work from home concept and working remotely, became the new normal, which was made possible with Information Technology. Considering the protocols and the safety of our employees, we have incorporated various IT tools like Google Meets, Zoom Meets, and Duo Call, digital payments, and the work from home culture.

Kanodia Group is proud to say that during the pandemic, it did not retrench a single employee, nor was any amount deducted from their salary. The Kanodia Group has since created thousands of job opportunities for the unemployed. It has contributed to the Prime Minister Relief Fund, distributed Automatic Sanitizer Machines to the local Administration, and was sending thousands of food packets daily to feed the hungry in slums.

How is the company scaling up its business activities?
Today, Kanodia Cement Limited is the fastest growing cement manufacturing company in the central and north zones. We are in the process of installing more cement grinding units in Uttar Pradesh and in some other states to consolidate our position in the Cement Industry of India.

We have recently diversified to the hygiene sector, and have established world-class plants in Gautambudh Nagar District of UP for producing raw materials like Spun-less Non-Woven Fabric and PP- based Spun Melt Non-Woven Fabric. We are also producing sanitary napkins and wet wipes, and will be adding more such hygiene products, all of which will soon be introduced in the market under our brand name.

To address the problem of customers in the construction sector, who have to go to various suppliers to source the different building materials, we have set up a Marketing Company, through which all the building materials will be made available to customers under a single roof.
