NHAI gets go ahead for ₹547-cr road in Bihar

The ministry of road, transport & highways (MoRTH) has given the go-ahead for the 22.7-km bypass road between Palamu's Sankha village and Garhwa's Khajuree village in Bihar. The ₹547 crore project is to be executed by NHAI informed Director Project implementation, P Kumar, who also said that the estimated investment will be about ₹703 crore, and that the work is to be done within 730 days from the date of issuance of work order to a successful bidder. The bypass will be a four-lane road, with each lane having 8.5m width. The stretch currently has a rail over bridge (ROB), two major river bridges, and two vehicle underpasses. The bypass will pass through 21 villages — five in Palamu district and the rest in Garhwa, for which 131 hectares of land is being acquired in Palamu's Sankha and Garhwa's Khajuree villages.
