Land hurdle cleared for Delhi-Meerut RRTS corridor project

The Delhi-Meerut Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) corridor project
The Delhi-Meerut Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) corridor project has received approval for the allotment of 297 sqm of land in Jangpura, Delhi. The Lieutenant Governor (LG) V K Saxena granted the approval, considering the national importance and public interest of the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut corridor. This land is crucial for establishing connectivity between the stabling yard at Jangpura and the Ring Road at Nehru Nagar, supporting the construction of the 82.15-km semi-high-speed rail corridor. The approval comes after a two-year delay, impeding the progress of the project. With this obstacle cleared, the RRTS project aims to introduce a semi-high-speed regional rail service, reducing travel time between Delhi and Meerut.
