Haryana govt kick-starts work on 24-km metro rail project

The Haryana government has commenced work on the Ballabgarh to Palwal metro rail stretch, aimed at bolstering connectivity in the National Capital Region (NCR). The approved metro project, spanning 24 km, will link crucial industrial areas like Sector 58-59, Sikri, Softa, Prithla, Baghola, Alhapur, and Palwal. The project team visited the Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) corridor, which will house ten metro stations.

In addition to the MRT system, the authorities are also exploring alternatives for the proposed corridor, and the alignment is being finalized after consultations with NHAI and other stakeholders. Raja Nahar Singh Metro Station, formerly known as Ballabhgarh Metro, serves as the terminating station on Delhi Metro's Violet Line, with the metro route starting from Kashmere Gate Station. Palwal, situated approximately 60 km from Delhi, boasts connectivity to the Eastern Peripheral Expressway (EPE) or Kundli-Ghaziabad-Palwal Expressway (KGP Expressway) and the Western Peripheral Expressway.
