DDA clears ₹825-cr infra funds for Narela sub-city

To develop the Narela sub-city in north Delhi on the lines of Dwarka sub-city, the Delhi Development Authority is building two new sectors for which the authority has cleared ₹825 crore for building top-class infrastructure. The estimate approval committee of the authority has cleared various schemes including roads, drainage systems, electricity, and allied infrastructure at sectors G 2 and G 8. The DDA is building 20,000 flats in these sectors and the newly cleared funds would be invested in the construction of the matching infrastructure. The authority has worked out a provision to spend ₹245 crore on water supply and sewage system and ₹117 crore more on stormwater drains and ₹138 crore and augmenting power supply infrastructure.

The approval also included the construction of a ten km long and twenty-meter wide road involving ₹50 crore investment. There is also a provision to build a sewage treatment plant with additional funds.

Allocations are also made for the transport infrastructure as a grant of ₹400 crore for DMRC to construct Phase-IV metro line on the Rithala-Nerala corridor.
