BAJ Freight Expands Fleet with Liebherr LTM 1100-5.3 Mobile Crane
The Ghana-based company’s existing fleet includes 300-tonne, 220-tonne and 150-tonne Liebherr cranes. According to CEO Joseph Biney, the new 5-axle crane will handle smaller lifting jobs and reduce pressure on the larger cranes, which currently operate at high utilisation levels.
The LTM 1100-5.3 features a 62-metre telescopic boom and can carry up to 16.9 tonnes of counterweight while maintaining a 12-tonne axle load on public roads. The crane is also designed for efficient global mobility and can travel with axle loads as low as 9 tonnes.
Safety that impresses
Safety is the top priority at BAJ Freight and Logistics Ltd on all construction sites. “The LTM 1100-5.3 impressed us with its high safety standards. Furthermore, the 5-axle crane is equipped with the new LICCON3 crane control system and will be the first mobile crane of this generation in Ghana,” says Biney. The new crane’s main areas of application will be in port logistics and in projects for the mining and oil & gas industries.
