How is Manitowoc leveraging its international expertise, technology transfer, and local capabilities to deliver high-performance, cost-efficient cranes tailored to Indian project conditions?
India’s rapidly expanding infrastructure sector is driving demand for smarter, stronger, and more reliable lifting solutions. We are expanding our product portfolio and strengthening our support processes to meet these evolving market needs. This effort is guided by our Voice of the Customer process, an integral part of The Manitowoc Way, which helps us design products and services for our customers. One of our biggest strengths is being a global brand with a strong local presence. We’ve been able to bring cutting-edge technology from our global R&D centers and adapt it to suit India’s unique project conditions. Our Pune facility plays a key role here—it’s where international innovation meets Indian practicality. The result? Cranes that are high-performing, cost-effective, and built for the terrain and climate our customers work in every day combined with industry-leading aftermarket support.

How is Manitowoc advancing energy-efficient cranes, electric or hybrid models, and digital control systems to reduce emissions, improve safety, and enhance productivity on job sites?
As India moves toward its net-zero goals, we’re present with our energy-efficient cranes, hybrid models, and smart control systems that help reduce emissions and improve safety. Our machines are helping our customers work smarter and greener, even when working in tough environments. With a focus on reliability, customization, and performance, our cranes are designed to deliver maximum uptime and safety, and we back that up with predictive maintenance tools, digital diagnostics, and a responsive service network. It’s all about giving our customers peace of mind and keeping their projects moving.
What are the company’s initiatives towards workforce development, skills training, and building trust in its customers?
Technology is important, but people make the difference. We’re deeply committed to developing the skills of crane operators, dealers, and service teams across India. Through training programs, safety workshops, and partnerships with local institutions, we’re helping build a stronger, more capable crane ecosystem. It’s about empowering the workforce and raising industry standards.Customer trust and confidence with our brands is built on consistent performance and genuine support. Manitowoc delivers value through great products that deliver excellent value on invested capital, reliable spare parts delivery, and exceptional service throughout the crane lifecycle.
What will Manitowoc highlight at EXCON 2025?
One of the highlights this year will be our latest launch from the Pune factory --- the Potain MCT 105 topless tower crane. It’s designed specifically for the Indian market, offering a compact footprint, fast assembly, and impressive lifting capabilities in high-rise and infrastructure projects that are coming up across the country. We are also putting a big focus on after-sales service and support for our customers, for whom after-sales support is just as important as the product. We are enhancing our service network, improving parts availability, and making maintenance and operations more seamless. It’s all part of our commitment to being a long-term partner—not just a supplier.
