Afcons to deploy 20 tunnel boring machines for underground rail tunnel projects
The HSR C2 Tunnelling package is a challenging project, as it will involve constructing an undersea tunnel as well as a tunnel through a highly urbanised area. The shaft excavations for the project could prove to be particularly challenging, as the depths could go beyond 50 metres.
Despite the challenges, Afcons is confident that it can complete the project on time and within budget. The company has a proven track record in tunnelling, having previously constructed the country's first underwater Metro tunnels in Kolkata.
