“Leveraging local presence is our motto”

Joining Asia Pacific Marketing Team from your previous technology assignment as Global Laboratory Manager, how would you look to increase Mobil's business presence in the Indian construction equipment sector?
Since the last decade, an increasing number of customers have been demanding superior performing, high technology products to deliver sustainability benefits. Talking specifically about construction & mining equipment sector, we have plans and strategies in place which are working well despite the current market scenario. With development in this sector, Mobil will continue to support its customers in achieving their productivity and cost savings objectives through innovative lubrication solutions. I look forward to increased engineering collaboration with OEMs in India to ensure optimal performance of our technology leading lubricants and take on specific lubrication challenges presented by various industrial machinery to deliver advancing productivity benefits to our mutual customers.
Our priority will be to engage with equipment builders and local end consumers of lubricants in construction and mining sector thereby strengthening our footprint by way of delivering advancing productivity benefits that ensure operational safety, improved environmental care and increased productivity. Our equipment Builder Services Group has been playing an instrumental role since 1914 working closely with Original Equipment Manufacturers to understand equipment trends analyse lubrication challenges, provide consultancy on lubrication system design, help troubleshoot field lubrication issues and introduce new products and technologies. At the centre of this partnership is our global network of engineers with unsurpassed expertise in lubrication technology. By engaging further with the Indian OEMs and end users, we will look to integrate this expertise for providing newer solutions for Indian construction sector.
Beyond lubricants, what are the plans to offer product support in terms of condition monitoring as Indian construction equipment are exposed to extensively varying operating conditions?
Condition monitoring support is provided by Mobil through its Signum oil analysis program. Our Signum analysis program is specifically tailored to monitor critical indicators for in-service lubricating oils enabling operational safety, environmental care and productivity benefits. Few examples of Mobil's technical services offered to the sector include oil analysis, hydraulic system inspections, gear inspections, trouble shoot services, lubrication audits and rationalization, lubrication training on application and use, centralized grease system analysis, optimization videoscopy, and expert analysis services.
To address the volume based requirements, are you adding capacities to your blending facilities? Where are your blending facilities, storage facilities and depots located presently for lubricants?
ExxonMobil leverages a global network of manufacturing facilities. This network is used to find the most efficient and economical means to serve our customers. Investments in new manufacturing facilities are carefully considered based on the needs of the market. Much of Asia Pacific is served from a world scale integrated facility in Singapore. Wish to reference the recent announcement of new grease manufacturing capacity in Singapore to serve Asia Pacific grease needs.
Would only the OEMs or the aftermarket segment be targeted?
Certainly, we would be quite keen to serve the aftermarket as well.
