Adani group to invest ₹10,700-cr to expand Lucknow airport

The Adani Group
The Adani Group will invest ₹10,700 crore in the expansion of Lucknow airport in order to increase its annual passenger handling capacity from 4 million to 39 million. The expansion plan, which received clearance from the Union Environment Ministry on December 15, will include the construction of a new integrated terminal building (T3) and a new terminal building (T4) with associated infrastructure and support facilities. The project will also include the development of a cargo complex and a multi-modal transport hub with metro connectivity, multi-level car parking, and cityside check-in and self-bag drop facilities. The expansion is expected to create employment for around 2,000 people during the construction phase and 25,000 people once it is operational.

The Adani Group recently took control of the Lucknow airport from the Airports Authority of India (AAI) and has steadily increased its presence in the aviation sector, winning the rights to run airports in Lucknow, Jaipur, Mangaluru, Thiruvananthapuram, Ahmedabad, and Guwahati through a competitive bidding process in 2019.
