India Imposes Anti-Dumping Duties on Three Chinese Products

The DGTR, following separate investigations, found that these products were exported to India below the normal value, leading to dumping. This dumping, in turn, caused material injury to the domestic industry.
As per notifications from the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) issued last month, the anti-dumping duties apply to gypsum board/tiles with lamination on at least one side, industrial laser machines in fully assembled, Semi Knocked Down (SKD), or Completely Knocked Down (CKD) form used for cutting, marking, or welding operations, and wheel loaders imported in the form of Completely Built Unit (CBU) or SKD.
These anti-dumping duties, specified in the notifications, will be in effect for five years unless revised, replaced, or amended. Additionally, similar duties have been imposed on gypsum tiles manufactured by certain companies in Oman.
This move follows previous anti-dumping duties imposed on toughened glass for home appliances and specific types of flax yarn from China. While the DGTR recommends the imposition of duties, the finance ministry is responsible for enforcing them.
