Arx Mining & Construction Equipment offers Motor Graders & Forklifts
Arx Mining and Construction Equipment, Amarnath Ramachandran - Managing Director
We are offering machines with dual fuel engines and are switching most drivelines to CVT to improve machine performance and efficiency; we are also working on hybrid solutions to improve cost efficiency.
Arx has a wide product portfolio that includes Motor Graders, Blasthole drills, Dust Suppression Systems, and Reachstackers, Empty Container Handlers and heavy Forklifts in the Cargo Handling equipment. Its manufacturing facility is located in KIADB (Karnataka Industrial Area Development Board) in Narasapura Industrial area. The company uses heavy-duty automatic powershift and CVT transmissions of ZF, axles of NAF and Kessler, Germany, controllers and displays of Cobo, Ennovation, and engines of Cummins, Volvo Penta, and Scania.
Display of a wide range of products at Excon 2023
Arx has a wide range of products for the road building, mining, and cargo handling sectors. At Excon we will exhibit the following products:- Motor graders G3200, G2100 and G1200 which offer customers a choice of grader as per their specific application and requirement in mining, and road building projects.
- Blast hole drill D3300 - an innovative product that is a 6” - 8” Rotary cum DTH with drill capability of 24m with 3 rod changer – 6m in single pass (can be customised for longer rods).
- Dust suppression system S-600 which can spray a water mist up to 60m for haul roads and mine heads.
- Large forklift FLT35 that can be fitted with tyre handler attachments for handling large dumper tyres or lifting and moving heavy aggregates.
- CS45 Eco+ for loaded containers with a Continuously Variable Transmission for higher fuel efficiency and productivity.
Enhancing productivity, efficiency, and sustainability of equipment
Arx has just completed three years of operations during which we have built a portfolio of a large number and variety of equipment. We have dual fuel engines and are switching most drivelines to CVT to improve machine performance and efficiency, and are working on hybrid solutions to improve cost efficiency.Training and upskilling of operators is a constant activity. We have added a lot of diagnostic aids on our machines, which reduces the level of skill required to operate our machines and troubleshooting in case of any error on the machine, which even a semi-skilled operator can do.
Most machines today are designed to run three shifts. The efficiency of a project site really depends on the planning. Utilisation is optimal if all activities on a site run as planned. For example, if the grader breaks down, the compactor and paver etc which follow will become idle. Hence, we focus making our machines highly reliable. All key aggregates like engine, transmission, pump, etc are on a CANbus network. Our telematics box constantly conveys real time info on the machine.
Outlook for construction sector in 2024
The CE market has always slowed down prior to an election at the Centre. Investor confidence is not a parameter which can easily be forecasted, and it would be more prudent to follow historical statistical data. The new emission norm only complicate matters more. OEMs gamble on manufacturing high volumes of equipment with the outgoing emission norm in order to postpone the inevitable price hike. The danger with this, however, is that one may get saddled with old machines that remain unsold prior to the cutoff. The emission norm upshift is certainly going to slow down the market as the end-customer gets no fiscal benefit from excavating a foundation with a less polluting machine. The second-hand machinery prices will spike as people will prefer these to new machines.
