How do you see the current market scenario and growth prospect for quarry/mining equipment in general and Puzzolana in particular, keeping the government’s focus on infra development in view?
The focus on infrastructure, especially road construction, has crossed the 20Km/day target, resulting in increase in requirement of plants. With projects like river connectivity, dams, reservoirs and green environment, there would be demand for more sand plants and stringent quality norms, etc.
The mining business has started booming with the coal blocks and mining activities in Haryana, Bihar, and Goa. We, at Puzzolana, are looking for good business in crawler crushers, screens, feeder breakers, and continuous miners in the coming years.
A word about your vision 2020 and initiatives to achieve the same.
Our target is to become one of the global players for supply of Crushing & Screening plants with one of its kind features and quality. Apart from this, our aim is also to have one of the largest manufacturing & service set-up.
What market potential do you see for your products in the North-East and sub-Himalayan region and your plans to garner a major share?
Our skid and mobile plants are already present in the North-East region. We are making special plants to suit the terrain and hilly regions. Besides this, we have our associates (dealers) located in Guwahati with feeder points in Arunachal and Manipur for spares & service support.
Are you planning to introduce new equipment for these regions, seeing the terrain difficulties and smaller size of projects?
We have already introduced smaller crawler crushers of 50 tph capacity and modular design crushers in the range of 80-100 tph for quick installation & dismantling for these regions.
What are the competitive features and the recent advancements being carried out in your product line to make them attuned to the Indian jobsite conditions?
Our crawler crushers are of diesel electric design. All the electric motors are customer-friendly and enable cost-effective operation and easy maintenance.
We’re manufacturing quality concrete and plaster sand using uniquely designed sanders with minimum wastage/rejection of ultra-fines. Being a solution partner, we’re supporting with spare parts from our in-house state-of-the-art foundries and machining facilities.
What is Puzzolana doing to achieve a higher level of energy efficiency in its products?
We’re developing innovative cost-effective features for best overall cost/ton of production. Our products are maintenance-friendly, reliable and rugged. We have an in-house research and development wing and maximum in-house production with total control on input raw materials with centralized procurement.
Apart from expanding your sales through first-time buyers, what would be your strategy to retain existing customers?
For retaining our customers, we offer services such as:
- Periodic health-check of plants, operation & maintenance training
- Life cycle checks of plants of plus 6 years for refurbishment / overall maintenance
- Standby /float crushers in case of any major breakdown of main equipment
- Updating of plants with buyback of obsolete equipment
- Support customer in dismantling and shifting of plants to new sites with implementation of latest improvements in design and operation features.
Puzzolana is launching higher capacity Cone crushers- Plus 500tph during the show. Besides this, we will display state-of-the-art Crawler Units and Jaw crusher of a new design with higher productivity.
