KYB-Conmat under the stewardship of Mr. Premraj is one of the largest manufacturers of Concrete Construction Equipment in India, producing world’s finest Batching Plants, Canal & Raod Paving Machines, Transit Mixers and Construction Elevators.
Born in 1965 in a poor family from a small town of Uttar Pradesh, he went to study Mechanical Engineering at Roorkee. Starting his professional career as a shift supervisor in packaged food industry, his quest to achieve something meaningful inspired him to leave the comforts of office work and join a company engaged in Tunnel construction in the Himalayas. It was here he realised how mechanisation had made construction speedier, better and safer. In those days, most of the advance equipment were imported and required a lot of adaptation to suit Indian working conditions. Considering this he started developing India specific equipment for a leading American company in the eighties. He was also instrumental in bringing advance concrete paving technology for roads and canals to India in the early nineties.
A first generation entrepreneur, he started Conmat Group of Industries in 2002 from a small 200 Sq. Ft rented space to manufacture material handling systems, and diversified into Concrete Construction Equipment in 2009. The moment of glory came with equity partnership from the Global giant KYB Corporation of Japan in 2012. Today the group has 70 manufacturing locations in 34 countries, having annual turnover of over 21000 crores and employing over 12500 professionals.
Being a designer himself, his prime focus is on innovation & development. The company has set up a State of the Art R&D and Manufacturing facilities in Vadodara, Gujarat to produce technologically advance yet economically viable equipment.
KYB-Conmat ensures that its efforts and actions impact the people at grass root level and the company is able to cater to every stakeholder of the society. The organization is involved in a number of CSR activities ranging across environment, art, culture and youth.
Mr. Premraj has received many National and International Awards for his outstanding contribution to the Industry and the Society. He is the Past Chairman of Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), Central Gujarat in addition being on advisory board of many Industrial bodies and Technical Universities.
