Govt releases Rs. 37-cr for border roads
The Ministry of Rural Development has approved the release of Rs 36.6 crore for strengthening the rural road infrastructure in Ladakh's border regions, which it shares with China and Pakistan. This allocation is made under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) for the financial year 2023-24. As part of the government's plan to construct a 500km rural road network in Ladakh during the third phase of PMGSY, this fund will be utilized for the construction of roads, bridges, district roads, and PMGSY roads in Ladakh's border areas.
