Tamil Nadu inks Rs 6.64 lakh-cr MoUs in Global Investors' Summit
Tamil Nadu's inaugural Global Investors Meet (GIM 2024) concluded with a remarkable investment commitment exceeding Rs 6.64 lakh crore, as evidenced by 631 Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs). Leading the pack of committed investments are Tata Power (Rs 70,800 crore), Adani Group (Rs 42,768 crore), Sembcorp (Rs 36,238 crore), Leap Green Energy (Rs 17,400 crore), and Chennai Petroleum Corporation (Rs 17,000 crore).
These substantial investment proposals span diverse sectors, including advanced electronics manufacturing, green energy, non-leather footwear, automobiles and e-vehicles, defence and aerospace, data centers, global capability centers, information technology, and digital services.
To facilitate the smooth execution of these projects, the local government has pledged single-window clearances. Additionally, the state government will establish a special committee under Industries Minister T.R.B. Rajaa to monitor the progress of these investments. This committee will comprise officials from the industries department and Guidance Tamil Nadu.
