While essential for Indian farmers, the monsoon rains are a big problem for many house owners. Wet ceilings and moldy walls are common, and water penetration can even destroy supporting structures over a period of time. New, one component waterproofing cementitious slurries can provide a quick and simple solution to this problem.

Roofs, patios and balconies are major weak points of a building. They are exposed to extreme fluctuations in temperature, often resulting in small cracks where water can enter unhindered. This can have serious consequences from health-damaging mold to corrosion of reinforcements.

Lasting Protection Against Water Damage

Polymer-modified mineral sealing slurries are used today as reliable waterproofing compounds in all types of buildings. Unlike conventional waterproofing systems, they can even be applied to damp substrates. Modern high-tech sealants are also flexible. The coating remains intact even if a part of the building moves, or cracks form in the substrate. At the same time, water vapor can diffuse out unhindered. Sealing slurries modified with VINNAPAS® polymer powder are single-component systems that only require mixing with water. Dosage errors can virtually be excluded. The slurries are then applied with a brush or trowel. The polymer binder additives offer several positive effects. The flexible material cures without cracking. Processing time is longer than with purely cementitious systems. And the bonding strength is improved to such an extent that the slurry can even be applied to wood, metal and plastics.

Large Number of Applications

WACKER has over 50 years' of experience in developing polymer binders for sealing slurries. Its VINNAPAS® binders rank among the most-produced dispersible polymer powders worldwide. These binders are used to formulate highly effective waterproofing slurries for a variety of applications.

  • Flexible sealing slurries prevent the passage of water under hydrostatic pressure. They are typically used to seal balconies, patios and roofs, as well as the walls and floors of bathrooms and kitchens. Outdoors, they protect water tanks and swimming pools from hydrostatic pressure.
  • Semi-flexible sealing slurries make a building component totally resistant to the passage of water. Traditional areas of application are the side walls of buildings, terrace walls, and chhajjas (stone eaves) above windows.

Mix the powder sealing slurry with the water, wait for five to 10 minutes, then mix again for 30 seconds. Now the slurry is ready to use:

Easy to Apply:
Mix the powder sealing slurry with the water, wait for five to 10 minutes, then mix again for 30 seconds. Now the slurry is ready to use:
Primer:
Once the cracks are filled and the surface is ready, apply one coat of waterproofing slurry as primer.
1st and 2nd Coat:
Once the surface is dry to the touch, apply the first coat of waterproofing slurry. Use a brush to apply the second coat of waterproofing slurry in the opposite direction to the first coat.
