In 1800 B.C. the Amorite king, Hammurabi, took the throne of the new Babylonian dynasty and established an extensive law system which encompassed nearly every area of ancient life. The code of Hammurabi made the builder accountable for the houses he built. If one of his buildings fell down and killed someone, the builder would be put to death.
