The Kadapa-Bengaluru line was sanctioned in 2008, covering a distance of 255 km via Madanapalle and Kolar. The works on this stretch have been carried out up to Pendlimarri from Kadapa. In the 2021-22 budget, a survey for the Muddanur-Prasanthi Nilayam line was proposed to reduce the burden of matching grant on the state government.
This new line will provide connectivity to people between Dharmavaram, Kadapa, and those living in the surrounding areas. The focus on this project is expected to improve transportation and connectivity in the region, facilitating the development of local industries and boosting economic growth.
