Delhi gets world’s tallest metro station at Haiderpur Badli

Delhi metro’s under-construction Janakpuri West-RK Ashram Marg corridor under Phase-IV is all set to get one of the world’s tallest stations at Haiderpur Badli and will also be one of the highest sections of the Delhi Metro. Haiderpur Badli will be an interchange point between the existing Yellow Line (Samaypur Badli-Huda City Centre) station and the upcoming station of the Magenta Line extension.

Principal Executive Director (corporate communications), Anuj Dayal, informed that at a height of 24.25 metres at the platform level and 23.2 metres at the track level, the Phase-IV Haiderpur Badli station will be as tall as a seven-storey building. Work is in progress to install the pier caps for the adjacent viaducts after the erection of pillars is completed.

The roof slab of the Yellow Line platform will act as the platform for Magenta Line. The average height of the pillars of the Janakpuri West-RK Ashram corridor is 10 metres, but it will reach 20 metres at Madhuban Chowk, where the corridor will cross (Rithala-Shaheed Sthal) Red Line and increase above 25 metres at Haiderpur Badli as it crosses over Yellow Line.
