The National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) has turned its attention to the completion of the 924-meter long tunnel T1 Peerah-Chanderkote, located between Nashri and Ramban in Jammu and Kashmir. The construction work is being carried out on a fast-track basis after the recent opening of the 880-meter long tunnel T5, designed to bypass areas prone to landslides and shooting stones.
DM Mussarat Islam, who is overseeing the ongoing construction works on various national projects in Ramban district, including the NHAI's four-lane project, stated that the completion of the remaining job on the T1 tunnel will reduce the distance between Peerah and Kunfer, Chanderkote by two kilometers. The work on the T1 tunnels is expected to be completed as scheduled.
Overall, the NHAI is making significant progress in improving infrastructure in Jammu and Kashmir, with the construction of tunnels and highways expected to significantly enhance transportation and connectivity in the region.
