How has the construction industry responded to the diaphragm wall foundation equipment introduced by Apollo Techno Industries?
Apollo Techno is the sole Indian company to manufacture diaphragm wall foundation equipment at our fully integrated facility in Mehsana, near Ahmedabad. We launched our product, the Apollo DW-235, in 2023. It comes complete with a Kelly bar, grab buckets, and continuous flight auger attachments. Following its commercial launch, we have successfully sold eight units in Gujarat.
Contractors are using this foundation machine for various projects, including basement construction for shopping malls and river wall boundaries. The feedback from our customers has been encouraging, and we are awaiting further responses to make necessary modifications to better suit existing and emerging job site applications.
What are the key features of Apollo’s A-Series horizontal drill machines?
Apollo Techno is the sole Indian manufacturer of horizontal drills, supplying small, medium and large-sized directional drilling equipment suitable for Indian working conditions. Our A-Series solutions offer ease of operation and low operating costs, especially in challenging ground conditions, with high levels of equipment availability. The A-Series drills feature high torque with tonnage ranging from 5 to 180 tons, supported by 6000 psi hydraulic pressure for enhanced power. The compact footprint and robust design of our rigs make them more efficient and powerful compared to competitors.
The A-Series machines are equipped with the latest technological advancements, making them ideal for the drilling segment. They can achieve work rates between 120 meters/hour to 180 meters/hour. We offer an add-on mud pump powered by an engine, which enhances the performance of our rigs. Our A-Series drills are available in various configurations, including open-type machines and specialized cabs in the A1000 HDD and A1200 HDD models. We also provide cabin attachments for improved visibility and productivity.
The automatic machines are manufactured at Apollo’s state-of-the-art facility in Mehsana, Ahmedabad and are supported by Apollo’s factory trained engineers and technicians.
What are the company’s plans for expanding its offerings?
We are actively working towards manufacturing smaller-sized plants that can operate in diameters ranging from 400-600 mm, as compared to the Apollo DW-235. We have noticed that there are well-established European and Chinese foundation equipment manufacturers in the Indian construction market, but we believe our competence lies in our experience with horizontal drills and piling rigs, like the Apollo PR-235. With our expertise, we can manufacture a base machine with varied attachments, ensuring ease of integration and application reliability.
To expand and consolidate our mainstay product - the horizontal drill rigs, we are graduating our machines from Generation 1 to Generation 2. The Generation 2 machines come equipped with advanced joysticks, allowing operators to monitor the machine’s performance through a single display unit. These machines feature fewer wirings, contributing to easier maintenance.
What is the current market presence of Apollo Techno Industries?
Apollo has a population of over 830 horizontal drills currently in operation across India. Recently, we booked orders for higher-capacity Apollo A800R drills for Germany and Russia. To support our machines, we have established offices in Kolkata, Bhopal, Uttar Pradesh, and Chennai, ensuring that our factory-trained engineers and technicians are available to assist our customers.
