Construction Chemicals in Repair and Rehabilitation of Structures

FAIRMATE - concrete structures with structural rehabilitation

Generally, concrete structures deteriorate due to the following reasons:
  • Corrosion of embedded steel
  • Structural damage
  • Water infiltration
  • Freeze and thaw cycles
  • Seismic activity
  • Concrete quality and poor workmanship during
  • Poor construction, concrete strength
  • Environmental conditions
  • Design deficiency
  • Poor maintenance
  • Selection of poor-quality construction materials
Years of research plus decades of practical experience have enabled FAIRMATE to develop detailed solutions to restore and rehabilitate concrete structures with structural rehabilitation, retrofitting and strengthening of RCC structures.

Procedure for Structural Protection
Material Science: Material is very important for protection and repairs of civil structures. Many construction chemicals nowadays are present for giving protection and for retrofitting of civil structures. Polymer science is a new advancement in this field.

Conditional Survey/Inspection: It is required to do conditional survey of concrete structures at regular interval/frequency to see the degradation pattern. Structures which are functioning in severe environmental conditions are monitored frequently.
