Power Curbers

CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2011: Records Resounding Success

Power Curbers has constantly developed and expanded the 5700 series since 1985. From its roots as strictly a curb and gutter machine, the 5700 has evolved into the 5700-C, a "one machine does it all" slip-form paver handling sidewalk, V-ditch, and barrier wall.

In 2010, Power Curbers added yet more capability to the 5700-C. The 5700-C with optional "Max Package" outfits the machine with larger crawlers, all crawler steering and repositionable right post for pouring large variable barrier up to 8'(2.4m) high, paving to 12' (3.65m) wide, and other large applications.

Crawlers on the 5700-C-Max are one foot (305mm) longer, heavier, and grow from three rollers to four for increased stability. The new low-speed crawler torque hubs keep the machine pouring at a steady crawl when handling large offset molds.

All Crawler Steering, a long-time option on the 5700-C, improves steering accuracy when paving, pouring large walls, and in other demanding applications.

The Max Package includes mounting plates on the machine's right side to allow contractors to bring the right rear post forward. Bringing the leg forward redistributes weight, improving the machine's performance when using large barrier molds and when paving in the center-pour position.

Other options for the Max Package include dual side (left and right hand) pouring capability and a manifold for additional vibrator circuits.

When the contractors have completed large jobs with their 5700-C-Max and want to return to curb and gutter work, the right post is moved back to its standard position allowing the machine to turn 2' (610mm) ready as always. The machine maintains its 8'6" (2.55m) transport width in standard configuration.
