The Boards of Directors of BDP International, Inc. (BDP) and Unique Global Logistics Ptl Ltd (UGL) today announced the integration of UGL into BDP's operations in a move which will strengthen BDP's presence in India. UGL has been BDP's partner in India since 2008.
BDP is one of the world's largest privately-owned transport and logistics companies with more than US$2.2 billion in revenue, 4,000 customers globally and operations in more than 140 countries.
UGL is one of the leading project logistics companies in India and is known for its depth of experience in integrated logistics for multinational clients in the oil and gas, wind energy and project sectors.
As a result of the integration BDP's customers will be supported by a team of more than 200 logistics professionals in India. The new organization will continue to be led by the incumbent management team.
The integration with UGL will mean dedicated inbound and outbound logistics and customs clearance in every major international gateway, seaport and airport in India, delivering the speed and flexibility of service that BDP clients have come to expect.
Customers will also benefit from access to BDP's industry leading technology such as the web-based BDPSmart® Suite of shipping transaction/tracking management tools that reduce costs, increase supply chain visibility and improve the quality of international order execution.
As a result of the merger, BDP International will offer a full range of logistics services to its clients in India including:
- ocean, air and ground transportation;
- freight forwarding;
- customs brokerage, regulatory and security compliance;
- lead logistics process analysis, design and management;
- project logistics including heavy lift and over-sized dimensional cargo;
- oil and gas logistics;
- information management;
- feasibility studies; and
