Cosmos’ Cost-effective Formwork System for India

    Aluminium Formwork
Cosmos introduced its aluminium formwork in India way back in 2007 under the leadership of Mr. Siddharth Shah when it had first supplied its cost-effective material to a Pune based contractor for his slum rehabilitation project, which was completed within a record time. The company had used a monolithic formwork structure and facilitated the installation of doors and windows along with wall (100 mm) at the time of concrete pour. Cosmos also facilitated conduit systems for plumbing and electrical works to reduce the construction time.

After that there was no looking back for Cosmos as the company bagged a number of big projects including Nanded City, Megapolis, Kolte-Patil, Kumar Properties, etc. The company also has supplied formwork system suitable for water tank of 25 lakh litre capacity, made at a height of 110 meter with column and ring beam structure. It was a unique achievement for Cosmos as the project was completed in record time by supplying column and ring beam in Aluminum formwork.

The company also introduced a cost-effective monolithic structure in Aluminum frame and with Plywood as face- sheet to help reduce price by almost 25% in total capital investment. The combination of Plywood and Aluminum has reduced the cycle time of casting of walls & slabs when compared to frame structure, besides achieving a fair finish concrete. This is aimed at low cost housing projects.

Such projects are going on in Maharashtra for SRA schemes, where Cosmos aluminum formwork has helped in achieving a target of 200 units in 4 months. The unit consists of 25 sqm of plinth area having multipurpose hall, kitchen and attached toilet with 6 units in one row. These units are casted everyday having 60 m3 of concrete to achieve the target of 1000 units in 1 year.

The company has designed 1000 sq mtr flat slab of thickness 200mm including core consisting of lift, staircase, lobby and column by achieving a cycle time of 15 days per floor for high rise building in Pune.

    Cosmos Cost Effective Formwork

Cosmos aluminum formwork is also being used for making 250 bungalows in Nasik, Maharashtra. The project is expected to be over in a year's time.

In Gujarat the company is supplying for a frame structure for high rise building consisting of column, beams and slabs with lift, lobby and staircase.

Cosmos has recently started giving a service of refurbishment of old material to be used for new buildings by making refurbishment of material such as cleaning, levelling, welding if any and laquor coating and preparing a modulation drawing for their project by using old and new material.
