KONE N MiniSpace™ for Tall Buildings

A distinct range of smart & sustainable elevator solutions

As urban India continues to grow and bourgeon, the need to enhance people flow movement is constant and immediate. Kone incorporated valuable feedback received from customers and has relaunched the KONE N MiniSpace to provide the ideal people flow solutions for modern, intelligent buildings.

The new KONE N MiniSpace is designed especially for residential and commercial buildings where safety and space optimization are key requirements. As urban India is moving increasingly towards vertical spaces, the KONE N MiniSpace has been made more suitable for taller buildings. It can now travel up to a maximum of 135 m (as against 100 m earlier) and has an increased speed of 2.5 m/s, to ensure smoother and faster people flow.

Designed to impress through its vibrant interior design and shades, the KONE N MiniSpace™ range delivers the most memorable world-class riding experience and also contributes to the energy efficiency and sustainability for the full life cycle of buildings.

KONE N MiniSpace is already popular for its award-winning design. Customers have a choice of several visually appealing designs, innovative materials and lighting solutions, plus a fantastic choice of accessories. Some of its other notable features include:
  • Best-in-class ride comfort
  • Daily automatic brake testing
  • Proven rope technology
  • A curtain of light to ensure safe entry and exit
  • Accurate landing that eliminates risk of tripping
Regenerative Drive Technology

KONE N MiniSpace™ is not just people flow friendly, but also extremely eco-friendly. KONE’s regenerative drive technology converts the excess energy generated by an elevator into electricity that can be reused elsewhere in the building. A regenerative drive has a substantial impact on an elevator’s energy consumption – it can in fact cut energy consumption up to 20%.

With over 100 years of experience in the elevator business, KONE ranks amongst the top global companies in the elevator and escalator industry. It offers one of the best People Flow® experience through energy-efficient solutions that enable people to move smoothly, safely, comfortably, and quickly in an increasingly urbanized environment.

The company has achieved a strong track record in reliability, efficiency and safety, and it continues to contribute to sustainable urban development with its eco-efficient solutions. It owes a large part of its success to its consistent and systematic investment in R&D and innovativeness to boost its capabilities. To further enhance its services, it explores emerging technologies and working methods in other industries, and keeps abreast of changing market trends and customer needs. Going forward, the company has tied up with IBM for its technology, and is leveraging the Watson IoT platform to improve the uptime of its elevators and escalators.

KONE in India

KONE’s presence in India dates to 1984, and today, it is serving customers across the country’s fast-growing cities through its 40+ branches. Its production unit in Chennai produces elevators for the Indian market as well as for Bangladesh, Nepal and Sri Lanka, and manufactures components for modernization projects in other Asian-Pacific markets such as Australia, Korea, Singapore, and Malaysia. At Chennai’s training centre, KONE’s installation engineers and field mechanics are trained for ensuring quality and safety during installation and maintenance of elevators and escalators. KONE’s global technology and engineering centre is a testing and research hub, which supports the latest technology and development of its future solutions.

Exploring New Markets

Seeing the potential for its premium quality products in Sri Lanka’s growing building construction industry, KONE has expanded its operations in the country through a distribution agreement with Scan Engineering (P) Limited, which has over 10 years of experience in installing, maintaining, and servicing elevators and escalators. KONE is providing elevators, escalators as well as maintenance and upgradation services in Sri Lanka, and is looking for similar business opportunities in other markets as well.
