Sommer Anlagentechnik GmbH showcased its production engineering and automation systems for precast concrete element industry under its Sommer Precast Technology division.
German supplier and manufacturer of precast/ prefabricated concrete ceiling, and wall elements, Sommer Anlagentechnik GmbH, showcased its production engineering and automation systems for precast concrete element industry under its Sommer Precast Technology division. The company, a leading supplier of production technology to the precast concrete industry, has been supporting and helping in advancing the precast concrete industry with its innovative solutions in robotics and automation of production lines and machinery, and holds patents in many technologies. The objective of the numerous innovations is to increase efficiency and reliability of the equipment continuously.
Jan Jaap van der Neut, Sales Director, informed that their precast concrete technology has become more intensified and more focused on Shuttle Processing Plant (SPP). This is the first level of automation followed by two more levels, which they can provide based on requirements of the client. "We always keep customer requirements in mind by offering customized solutions from a low-cost/low volume to high-end/high volume. However, each market has different cultural and economic characteristics and requirements. The challenge of incorporating automation in the Indian market is that Indian manufacturers are not willing to remove their manual workers."
According to Mr. Jan, in 2017, the company may consider investing more in India if the economy improves, and they even consider local manufacturing if demand requires. "People are talking of a slow economy, but in my view this is the right time to invest. We have got two serious leads so far at this expo but let's see if they are materialized into actual sales. We have been doing enough sales talk in India; it's time now to convert them to sales," he says.
Sommer Precast Technology is present worldwide through subsidiaries and representatives. Their India office in Gurgaon is headed by Maninder Singh.
