Mekuba Petro Products - Catering to Mega Precast Concrete Projects
Mekuba mould-releasing agent comes in two types: the water-soluble polymer emulsion MRO 5000, and the oil-based MRO 3000. MRO 5000 is a deliberately formulated chemical that avoids sticking of concrete in the moulding booths to an extent of 97%. This non-sticking and non-staining product provides an excellent finish to the surface of the concrete, and reduces the occurrence of pinholes, even in the most challenging moulds.
“Pinholes are a wearing issue that most construction companies are familiar with. Clients who used MRO 5000 have reported a remarkable drop in the appearance of pinholes, which consequently led to a reduction in the need for reworks and plastering on concrete, thereby saving cost of labour and material, and time,” says Gokul, QAQC Engineer.
The nano-polymer emulsion-based chemical formulation of the mould-releasing agent creates an attracting effect between the particles of the concrete, whilst simultaneously creating a repelling effect between the concrete and the surface of the mould. Products that generally incorporate waste engine oil, leave a black stain on the moulded concrete; however, MRO 5000 uses a virgin-based raw material to combat this issue, providing a stain-free fair finish. Because of these characteristics, it has been duly certified by Bureau Veritas. “MRO 5000 surpasses competitors with its efficiency. Clients using MRO 5000 enjoy all these benefits and that too at 20-30% discounted rate compared to similar products in the market,” avers Gokul.
Mekuba’s team of professionals provide onsite visits to clients’ construction sites to train the labourers, foremen, and engineers, and educate them on the product’s optimum usage. Over the years, Mekuba has undertaken several major residential and commercial projects of pre-cast concrete. At a given time, a mega project may require 100 barrels of MRO 5000, which the company can supply within a few hours. It has been a reliable supplier to Metro corporations, including the Bangalore and Chennai Metro; the Mumbai-Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail (MAHSR) project, and is a major supplier to multinational conglomerate Larsen & Toubro.
Every barrel of MRO 5000 and MRO 3000 undergoes strict quality assessment tests from lab samplings to packaging and are sent out for delivery only after being approved by the laboratory. The company has a well-established supply chain and can deliver to neighbouring states within two days and to far off regions within seven days.
“The reason why the company keeps emerging as a leader in its field is that no compromise is made on the quality of its products and on its services to the customers,” informs Amar, Product Manager. “The company’s customer service team provides consistent technical support and ensures customer satisfaction. Due to its well-organized back- and front-end services, and remarkable performance, it has bagged many awards, which have earned it a strong reputation in the market for construction chemicals,” he adds.
