KONE India - launches new elevators for the mid-range segment with visuals inspired by the Navratna
Leading elevator and escalator manufacturing company KONE India has new elevator offerings: KONE U MONOSPACE® and KONE U MINISPACE™ for the mid-range segment, and launched its new Customer Experience Centre at India Technology & Engineering Center (ITEC) in Chennai, which will showcase KONE’s latest technology, development and solutions for enhanced people movement.
Speaking at the launch, Henrik Ehrnrooth, President and CEO, KONE Corporation, said: “The new range of KONE elevators will further strengthen our competitiveness in the elevator market of India, which is presently the second largest in the world, after China. Through more effective People Flow®, our aim is to make the users’ journeys safe, convenient, reliable, and more pleasurable in taller, smarter buildings.”
Amit Gossain, Managing Director, KONE India, commented: “Our new products will offer a wide choice of 26 cars, each with striking visuals inspired by Navaratna, the nine gems. Their unique interiors will certainly help differentiate our brand in the marketplace. Moreover, the new designs and the aesthetics will create a lasting impression and enhance user experience. Ride comfort is an important part of the user experience, and our aim is to deliver the best experience.”
Axel Berkling, Executive Vice President, Asia Pacific, KONE Corporation, said: “At KONE’s ITEC, our latest technology and advanced solutions will help us engage better with our customers. With our new solutions, the carbon footprint of buildings can be reduced to an even greater extent. Considering that the construction and real estate customers are quite demanding when it comes to energy-efficiency and Green Building Certification Schemes like LEED and BREEAM, this will be a huge advantage offered by KONE.”
The KONE U MONOSPACE® elevators are up to 35% more energy efficient than the earlier versions. The improvements have been made using the Renewed KONE EcoDisc® hoisting mMachine, a highly efficient drive, and the company’s enhanced standby solutions. The Renewed KONE EcoDisc hoisting machine is complemented by a range of upgrades designed to deliver industry-leading ride comfort. Features include a new Motor Control System, a renewed Braking System, a redesigned Hoisting System, and an improved Car Structure. The noise levels, both inside and outside the elevator cars, are as low as possible, the ride is smooth with no vibration, and the floor leveling is accurate.
Chennai-based KONE India, whose focus is to provide sustainable People Flow™ solutions for India’s rapidly growing cities, serves its customers across the country through its 40+ branches. Products are also manufactured for Bangladesh, Nepal and Sri Lanka markets at its manufacturing facility in Chennai, which also houses a training and a R&D center. A comprehensive test is conducted for ride comfort in every elevator produced, before its hand over to the client – a unique service in the elevator Industry.
KONE has set a benchmark in the industry through its eco-efficient performance, premium ride comfort, and award-winning designs. Its 2nd manufacturing unit in Sriperumbudur will be ready by mid-2019.
