Acrylic Polymer based Water Proofing Products

Tapecrete P-151, an acrylic polymer based product of CICO Technologies Limited is extensively used for water proofing & has prooved its durability in major projects. Apart from this Tapecrete P-151 is being put to versatile applications such as:

Bonding Material

Tapecrete P-151 in a slurry form with cement develops excellent bond with almost all types of building material. Slurry, composed of one part of Tapecrete intimately mixed with two parts of cement by weight, is of thick paint consistency and can easily be applied to the surfaces where bonding of new cementetious material (concrete or plaster) is required.

Repair Mortar for Cracks and Crevices

Cracks developed in concrete and masonry structures due to many reasons and crevices (due to inadequate or improper compaction) leading to surface honey combing. Tapecrete P-151 mixed with two parts of cement and 4-6 parts of silica sand can provide a good repair mortar for crack sealing, filling up of crevices and hollow spaces. To have an effective bond of repair mortar use Tapecrete slurry as a bonding medium prior to the application of the repair mortar.

Polymer Concrete

Polymer concrete, is a highly workable concrete, having minimum shrinkage and porosity and high bond, high compressive strength. Tapecrete P-151 has been successfully used for producing polymer concrete used for restoration/rehabilitation of structures such as increasing sizes of columns and beams by jacketing thickness range of 70-80 mm.

Durable Cement Paints

Use of cementbased exterior paints is increasing. Exterior cement paint of lighter colors contain white cement as the principal component. The performance of such paintsdepends significantly with the curing done on. Tapecrete P-151 when used as an additive to cement paint, improves performance and the durability of the paint. For external application, a good cement paint having 60% -80% of cement in the dry powder form needs to be used with Tapecrete P-151. Tapecrete 10 to 12 percent by weight of the dry paint is to be used with proper quantity of clean potable water required for producing desired consistency.

Application in Terrazo Flooring

Terrazo flooring (mosaic floors) contains cement, marble chips and marble powder, coloring agent and water. These materials are mixed, paid above a base CC layer and finished. After hardening of the mix surface is ground and polished to obtain the desired finish. In many cases during grinding marble chips gets dislodged due to lack of adhesion. Strength of the mix can be increased substantially by adding Tapecrete P-151 in the mix this also increase workability of mix making placement easier. Water requirement of mix is also reduced. 10-15 percent of Tapecrete P-151 by weight of cement is mixed when added to Terrazzo concrete flooring mix prevents loosening of chips during grinding or its service life.

Grit Finish on External Walls

The External walls decorating with grit finish is used over many buildings. In applying the grit finish, single size grit pieces are used, mixed with cement and water and this mix is applied on the plaster of external wall. Sometimes due to lack of bond individual grit pieces get separated and small holes are created. When Tapecrete P–151 (15% by weight of cement) is added to the grit mix the separation of grit pieces is avoided.
