The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) has launched a mixed land-use scheme on 110 acres area in Sector 24 wherein industries will be set up alongside commercial and residential structures on the same premises. While allottees will be allowed to develop industry on 75% of the land allotted to them, the rest of the plot can be used for residential, commercial or institutional purposes. Industrialists had been demanding such a scheme where residential and other basic facilities are available for employees in the same area so that they would not need to commute from far-off places.
There will be development like construction of roads, drains and green areas and the allocation will be carried out through e-auction. Chief Executive Officer, Arun Vir Singh, informed that 12% of the land would be used for residential purposes, 8% for commercial and 5% for institutional development.
